What is an NDP and Why?
•Neighbourhood planning gives communities direct power to develop a shared vision for their neighbourhood and shape the development and growth of their local area.•It is a legal document, containing policies, that has to be consulted by the Local Planning Authority•It may deliver financial benefits through the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL)
•An NDP has to conform with CDC’s Local Plan and the National Planning Policy Framework•It is not a tool for preventing development more for influencing what kind of development is wanted and acceptable
How have the areas for consultation been determined?
•John Sweet led the Parish Plan team in 2011/12. In drawing up the resulting action plan, extensive consultation was carried out.•The feedback from the Parish Plan consultations, along with 2011 census data and matters raised at Parish Council meetings have been used to determine the six consultation areas. •Amenity•Conservation•Economy•Environment•Housing•Infrastructure
