The project was partially funded with a grant of £4000 from the Gloucestershire Trust with landfill tax contributions donated by Cory Environmental, to whom the Management Committee expresses its thanks. See photos above. The panels will generate electricity for selling to the grid (or use when the hall is occupied during daylight hours). These should provide a steady income for at least 25 years. Village Hall Solar panels being installed Village Hall solar installation 9 Feb 2012  The Village Hall Annual General Meeting was held on Friday 20th April 2012. There was a good attendance to hear how the committee had faired over the year. They have been so well thought of that they were re-elected by acclamation. It was said that the new Solar panels might well make £1700 in their first year. The audience enjoyed a drink and chat for some while afterwards. © Somerford Keynes Parish Council and Contributors 2011
